An international online conference on the humanization of medical education was held in SSMI.
The international scientific and practical online conference "Medical Humanities in the preparation of future doctors as a way to overcome the problem of dehumanization of medicine in the XXI century" was held on August 14, 2020 in Samarkand State Medical Institute . The conference was organized by SamSMI Department of Humanities and Socio-Economic Sciences and UNIT group of international network of UNESCO's departments of "Bioethics" (Haifa) of Tashkent State Dental Institute.
So, the purpose of the international conference was to discuss foreign experience in training doctors, the place and role of humanities in the educational process, the integration of the humanitarian component in the clinical disciplines of medical universities, issues of global and social bioethics, the role and importance of information ethics in the era of globalization.
The international online conference was attended by professors and staff of UNESCO Almaty (Kazakhstan), SamSMI, TSDI, BukhSMI, higher educational institutions and research institutes of Belarus, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, more than 150 participants in total.
At the opening of the international online conference, the Rector of SamSMI, Professor Jasur Alimzhanovich Rizaev, Programme Specialist of the Social Humanities Sector of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty (Kazakhstan) Arina Myasoed, Professor Zamira Mukhamedzhanovna Mukhammedova of TSDI addressed the participants with an opening speech.
After the main reports, during the discussion on the actuality of the issues and the significance of the conference keynote speeches were made by B.S.Melnov, a prominent geneticist, professor of the International State Environmental Institute of the Belarusian State University named after A.D.Sakharov and associate professor of the SamMI Department of Therapy U.B.Samiev. A.N.Makhmudova, Head of the Chair of "Humanities and Socio-Economic Sciences" of SamMI, summed up the results of the international conference and expressed her gratitude to all speakers and participants of the scientific forum.
In conclusion, we would like to say that the conference will undoubtedly contribute to the quality of medical personnel education, uniting the efforts of research scientists and further discussion of humanization of medical education in the country. At the end of the conference, the speakers were awarded certificates of participation. The collection of scientific works of the international online conference is also planned for publication.
