"We Are Against HIV/AIDS" marathon took place in Samarkand
On 1 December, World AIDS Day, a public walking marathon was held in Samarkand under the slogan "Let's stop HIV/AIDS".
So, the public event was actively attended by representatives of the faculty and students of the Samarkand State Medical Institute.
The main part of the general marathon took place on the square of the Regional Drama Theatre named after Kh. Alimjan . Speakers talked about the history of HIV infection and its spread in the world, routes of transmission, clinical manifestations and their stages, gave new information about methods of prevention and treatment of the disease, and spoke about the history and use of the red ribbon - the symbol of AIDS patients.
Moreover, No one was left indifferent to the colourful performances of young athletes and amateur groups that glorified sport and healthy lifestyles. The performances of soloists and national stage performers contributed positively and lifted the spirits of all participants in the marathon.
