International scientific-practical conference titled "Interdisciplinary approach on diseases of head and neck" was held at Samarkand State Medical Institute. More than 150 specialists from leading medical universities of Russia, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan discussed head and neck diseases as well as involvement of young researchers into scientific activities and effective use of their potential.
The Rector of the First State Medical University of Saint-Petersburg named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, Russia, Sergey Fedorovich Bagnenko highly appreciated the scientific and pedagogical potential of SamSMI and expressed readiness to cooperate in the training of qualified personnel and further development of scientific potential. Health Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdukhakim Khojibaev also signed a memorandum of cooperation between Samarkand State Medical Institute and the First State Medical University of Saint-Petersburg named after Academician I.P. Pavlov. Under the memorandum, the sides will continue to cooperate in exchanging information and specialists, developing academic mobility of teachers and students, as well as joint research, scientific conferences, seminars and symposia.
At the end of the scientific and practical conference, Health Minister, Abdukhakim Khojibaev and Rector of the First State Medical University of Saint-Petersburg named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, Sergey Bagnenko visited the Institute's new academic building.
