HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EPIDEMIOLOGY
From 1965 to 1958, the Department of the Epidemiology had a course and the course leader was N.B.Yugoro and FIG. From 1958 the course was headed by P.M.Lerner. In 1974, Uzbekistan was separated from infectious diseases by the order of the SSV . This course was led by T.F.D Prosessor P.M.Lerner.In April 1978,the Department of Epidemiology was established and headed by Professor R.Lerner.From November 1967, at the Department of Epidemiology worked D.Pak dos Lemilov assistant R.F.Jalolova, Z.L.Katkova, U.Z.Rahmatulin, Z.B.Kirasnin.

The number of conferences, master classes and seminars conducted by the staff of the department for practice is more than 100. Employees of the department in cooperation with the European branch of the World Health Organization in Uzbekistan actively participated in projects such as "Improving the diagnosis of invasive bacterial meningitis", "Modern diagnostic methods in infectious diseases with diarrhea syndrome." Based on these projects, methods for diagnosing infections such as Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Neisseria meningitidis have been improved. Also, in cooperation with the Institute of Virology on "Improving the diagnosis of intestinal infections" for the first time in the region was diagnosed with rotavirus, norovirus, astrovirus, adenovirus infections.
Today, the staff of the department conducts research on various topics, including "Strengthening the monitoring of high fever and other infectious diseases in Uzbekistan", "The etiological structure of acute intestinal infections among children in Uzbekistan." From 2014 to 2016, in collaboration with international organizations, the WHO Regional Office for Europe (WHO Regional Office for Europe) conducted research on "Improving the monitoring of bacterial meningitis" in collaboration with "Clinical and epidemiological aspects of natural foci of infection." In addition, employees of the department participated in conferences in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Urgench, Khiva, Tashkent, Bukhara, Nukus, Andijan. The staff of the department has twice organized international scientific-practical conferences.
In 2014, L.M. Isaeva Medical Research Institute of Parasitology and Samarkand State Medical Institute, Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology and Dermatovenerology held a scientific-practical conference with international participation "Modern issues of medical parasitology and infectious diseases."
2018 L.M. Isaeva Medical Research Institute of Parasitology and Samarkand State Medical Institute, Department of Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology and Dermatovenereology organized an international scientific-practical conference "Parasitic and Infectious Diseases in Central Asia"

In 1988, according to the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Department of Infectious Diseases and the Infectious Diseases Hospital were merged and the "Association for the Scientific Treatment of Infectious Diseases" was established.
In September 1997, the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology and the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases were merged and renamed the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology. In 2013, the Department of Dermatovenereology was added to the department. The department was renamed "Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology and Dermatovenerology."

In 1979 he began working as an assistant at the department of the Department of General Hygiene of Samarkand State Medical Institute. In 1990 he defended his dissertation on the topic of hygiene assessment of the impact of harmful gases from the manufacturing industry on children at the Research Institute of hygiene of Children and Adolescents in Moscow, Russia.
From 1991 to 2009 he worked as an associate professor at the Department of General Hygiene. From 2009 to 2020, the doctor worked as the head of the epidemiological department et the Epidemiology Department of the Regional AIDS Center. Since September 2, 2020 he has been working as an associate professor of the department of Epidemiology . He has published more than 50 scientific articles and 3 methodological manuals.
