  The department was founded in 1933 on the basis of the therapeutic department of the Republican Hospital as the department of faculty therapy. The created department was headed by Professor A.M. Krasnopolsky.

  In different years, the department has changed its name and heads. In 1997 the department was renamed to Department of General Practitioners (for 6-7 courses), in 2012 to Department of Internal Medicine with course of phthisiology, and in 2020 renamed to Department of Internal Medicine №1. Outstanding medical scientists such as docent Denisova P.I., Professor Mnatsakanov T.S., docent Adilov A.K., Professor Mirzoyan N.A., docent Abdullayev N.A., Professor Haidarova G.H., Professor Kamalov N.M., Professor Toirov E.S. have always headed the department.

  Working in a modern internal medicine clinic requires a doctor not only to be a highly educated specialist in their field (cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, nephrology, etc.), but also to show professionalism in related medical disciplines almost every day.

The high scientific and educational potential of the Department of Internal Medicine has been supported for years by the active therapeutic and scientific work of the staff (professors, associate professors, assistants).

  Currently head of the department, Shuhrat Khudayberdievich Ziyadullaev was born in 1976 in Samarkand. He graduated Samarkand State Medical Institute in 2000. From 2000 to 2003 he was a postgraduate student, in 2010-2013 he was a doctoral student at the Institute of Immunology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2006 he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences, in 2014 - for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences (supervisor and consultant - Professor N.M. Khaitova).

  From 2002 to 2010 she was an assistant at the Department of Internal Medicine No2 for training of general practitioners at Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 2013 to 2017 he was Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology of Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 2017 to 2018 he was a senior researcher at the Scientific-Practical Centre of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Tashkent State Institute of Dentistry. From 2018 to 2020 - Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Human Immunology and Genomics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from 2020 works as Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation.

  Current highly qualified teachers working at the department: Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor H.H. Khamraev, PhD K.A. Islamova, Senior Lecturer K.R. Abdushukurova, teachers I.I. Sultonov, I.A. Akhmedov, F.Sh. Khasanov, Eshmurodov S.E., Uralov R.Sh., Ibragimov Kh.I.

  Nowadays, the Department of Internal Medicine No.1 carries out advanced research in the field of rheumatology, allergology and immunology, pulmonology and pharmacogenetics.

  Research of the Department team is focused on creating new technologies and means of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of immunopathological conditions and immune-dependent diseases based on modern knowledge of molecular and cellular mechanisms of immune response formation and pathogenesis of immune-mediated diseases. The scientific work of the department is closely connected with international scientific and educational centres. The Department staff takes an active part in national and international scientific and technical projects and conferences.

  The staff of the chair develops the following main scientific directions:

- Study of molecular and cellular mechanisms of pathogenesis, search for biomarkers of predisposition and early diagnosis, improvement of pharmacotherapy of immunoinflammatory diseases.

- Innovative technologies for predicting, preventing, controlling the course and treatment of allergic diseases.

  This makes it possible to maintain training programs for students at the department at the most modern level. Employees of department carry out preparation of students of faculties "General Medicine", "Higher nursing education" and "Medical-pedagogy" on courses "Internal diseases", "Allergology", "Introduction in medical profession" and others.

  For the last 3 years employees of department published more than 100 articles in republican, Russian and foreign magazines; 5 patents are obtained; 1 textbook, 6 scientific monographs, more than 20 educational and methodical manuals, methodical instructions were published. For the last 2 years on faculty are defended: 2 candidate dissertations. Under the supervision of professor Toirov E.S. defended dissertation work N.A. Khamrayeva on "Diagnosis and treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus in sharply continental climatic conditions", K.A. Islamova on "Features of diagnosis and treatment of early osteoarthritis".

EDUCATIONAL AND METHODICAL WORK


  The staff of the department prepare curricula, educational and methodological manuals on the topics of practical classes with the development of new forms of control of students' knowledge.

The training takes place in the therapeutic department of Clinic No 1 of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, with clinical case studies.

  The department runs a master's degree program in internal medicine. Clinical residents are trained in internal medicine and rheumatology.

  The department encourages the scientific work of students. The forms of students' participation in scientific work include regular meetings of the students' scientific circle, participation in various student conferences, and participation in national student competitions.

  The teaching staff are actively involved in the therapeutic, diagnostic and consultative work of Clinic No.1 of SamSMI (photo).
