BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT


  The Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases of the Samarkand Medical Institute was one of the first departments of the Institute organized in the first years of the Institute's activity. The department was organized in the 1932-1933 academic year and was located on the basis of the Therapeutic Department of the SamMI clinic. The organizer and the first head of the department was professor from Leningrad S.P. Zavadsky.

  Sergey Petrovich Zavadsky - Leningrad professor organizer and the first head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases S.P. Zavadsky headed the department for only a year and a half. Associate professor A.R. Gekhtman and assistant Yu.A. Tepper worked with him at the department.

  In connection with the relocation of S.P. Zavadsky V.G. Tashkent in 1934 the head of the department was appointed assistant professor A.R. Gekhtman.

  Associate Professor A.R. Gekhtman came to SamMI from Leningrad in 1933 and worked at the beginning as an assistant professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, and then as the head of the department (1934-1936).

  At the department at that time, apart from him worked assistants M.G. Irene, Yu.A. Tepper and B.D.Davidov. In 1934, the department was relocated to the city hospital and located on the basis of the therapeutic department. There were no special achievements during these years in the work of the department.

  In 1936-1941 the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases was headed by Associate Professor T.S.Mnatsakanov. He was simultaneously the dean of the faculty and the deputy director of the institute for academic affairs. At the same time, the department was again transferred to the SamMI clinic. During these years in the work of the department there have been positive shifts in the scientific and pedagogical activities of the department. There were several publications, guidelines. In addition to T.S.Mnatsakanov, assistants B.D.Davidov and A.F. Tekucheva worked at the department.

  Tegran Sergeevich Mnatsakanov, MD Professor, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Was born in Baku in 1899. Graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Azerbaijan University (1925). Having moved to Samarkand, he began to work in hospital (1925-1930). He actively participated in the organization and formation of SamMI. He worked at the beginning as an assistant at the department of faculty therapy (1930-1936), headed the department of propedeutics of internal diseases (1936-1941), was head of the department of faculty therapy (1941-1949). T.S. Mnatsakanov simultaneously worked in the administration of the institute, deputy dean (1933-1935 ), dean of the faculty (1935-1938), deputy director of the institute for scientific and educational work. During the work of SamMI, he published over 30 scientific papers, prepared 2 candidates of medical sciences. He was awarded two orders and several medals.

  In 1941, with the beginning of the war, the activities of the department were temporarily suspended, because in departments was evacuated Leningrad Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov.

  In 1942, the department's activities were resumed again. Associate Professor A.Kh. Malyar was appointed as the head of the department; assistants M.K. Ponomareva and O.K. Kodirov worked with him at the department at that time.

  Alexander Kharitonovich Malyar. Borned in Ukraine, graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute (1921), worked there in a therapeutic clinic as a resident, assistant, associate professor. With the beginning of the war he was evacuated to Samarkand and twice (1942-1943) and (1945-1949) headed the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases. Since the war years, there was no special scientific activity of employees at the department. In 1943-1945 the department was headed by Professor A.S. Mnushkin. Associate professor A.Kh. Malyar, assistants A.F. Tekucheva and O.K. Kodirov worked with him at that time at the department.

  Aron Salomonovich Mnushkin, MD professor (1942) was born in the city of Bobruisk, Belarus, graduated from the medical faculty of Voronezh State University (1928). After graduation, he served as a military doctor in the city of Termez. After demobilization he moved to Tashkent and worked at the faculty of faculty therapy at TashMI. First as an assistant (1933-1936), then as a senior assistant (1936-1939), and finally as an assistant professor (1939-1941). In 1942, after defending his doctoral dissertation, he was transferred to SamMI. Head of the Department of Internal Medicine Propedeutics.

  In 1945, Professor A.S. Mnushkin was appointed head of the Department of Hospital Therapy of SamMI and the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases was again headed by Assoc. A.Kh. Malyar (1945-1949). Together with him at that time at the department worked, assistants T.F. Tekucheva N.K. Ponomareva and B.D.Davidov. In 1949, B.D. Davidov was elected the head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases and he headed the department until 1951. Tekucheva's assistants worked with him at the department. N.K. The scientific direction of the department was the issues of the etiopathogenesis of the clinic and the treatment of trichodesmotoxicosis, scientific articles were published.

  In 1951, Professor M.K. Kulmatov was elected the head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, and the department was again transferred to the first city hospital and settled on the basis of the therapeutic department. Professor M.K. Kulmatov headed the department until 1963. Associate professor B.D. Davidov, assistant and then associate professor U.K. Vakhobova, assistants M.N. Khayitov, B.Kh. Khamzaliev, T.A. Arustamyan, V.I. Garkusha, T. T. Lomasheva, P. A. Chernova, S. A. Aripov, T. I. Isameddinova, F. A. Asliddinov, M. Z. Lazereva, A. Z. Zakirov. The scientific direction of the department was the study of the etiopathogenesis of the clinic and the treatment of trichodesmotoxicosis, heliotrope and anemia.

  Mukhammadzhon Kulmatovich Kulmatov MD professor (1951) was born in the city of Kokand. In 1925 he entered the medical faculty of Moscow State University. Then he transferred to the Leningrad Military Medical Academy from which he graduated in 1931. 1931-1932 he was an intern - researcher in the laboratory of academician I.P. Pavlov. Then he worked as a teacher at the Department of Normal Physiology of TashMI (1932-1936), worked as a therapist (1937-1942), in 1942-1946 he headed the Department of Hospital Therapy of the Tajik Medical Institute, after graduating from doctoral studies in Moscow (1947-1951), headed the Department propedeutics of internal diseases SamMI (1951-1963).

  1959-1960 years concurrently was the dean of the medical faculty. During the work of SamMI, he published 10 scientific papers. 2 Ph.D. theses were defended under his supervision. 1963-1965 the department was headed by associate professor U.K. Vakhobova.

  Uktam Karimovna Vakhobova, was born in 1928 (1972) Professor (1973) Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1980). She was born in the city of Margilan. Graduated from SamMI with honors in 1950 and from that year began working at the Institute as Resident of the Department of Hospital Therapy (1950-1953), Postgraduate Student (1953-1956), Assistant (1956-1959) of the same Department, Associate Professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases (1959-1963), Head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases (1963-1965). Since 1973 she has been the head of the department of therapy of the pediatric faculty until 2005.

  Uktam Karimovna, while working at the department, was Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (1961-1966), Rector of SamMI (1966-1981). From 1982 to 1986 she was the vice-rector of TashMI (1986-2005), head Department of Internal Diseases, Pedagogical Faculty SamMI. Since 2005 professor of this department. She was twice elected to the Supreme Soviet of the former USSR. U.K. Vakhobova has published more than 200 scientific works, under her supervision 2 doctoral, 10 master's theses were defended.   At that time, associate professors B.Kh.Khamzaliev, F.A.Asliddinov, M.Z.Lazereva, T.I. Isameddinova, A.Z.Zakirov, S.M. Alizoda, M.K.Kadina, R.M. Khusainova. The scientific direction of the department was the epidemiology of the treatment and prevention of arterial hypertension and coronary artery disease.

  Since 1965, the department was headed by associate professor, and then professor B.Kh. Khamzaliev. He headed the department for 27 years (1965-1992). During this time, the department twice changed its location (city hospital, regional hospital). During these years, assistants S.D. Tsoi, R.M. Khusanova, T.Yu. Yusupov, R.Kh. Saidukova, D.D. Martirosova, R.R. Prieva, G. Rakhmonova, M. Zhalolov worked at the department. , G.Kh. Gulomov, Kh.O. Nasrullaeva, A.M. Yuldoshev, N. Kurbonaliev, U.B.Samiev, U.D. other.   Bakir Khamzalievich Khamzaliev, MD Professor, Honored Health Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participant of the Second World War, was born in Kokand in 1919. Graduated from SamMI in 1942. (1942-1946) a military doctor at the front was wounded several times.   Professor B.Kh.Khamzaliev published over 120 scientific papers. Several Ph.D. theses were defended under his supervision. He was awarded three military orders and 15 medals. B.Kh.Khamzaliev simultaneously headed the committee of war and labor veterans at the institute for 10 years.

  From 1992 to 1995 the department was headed by Professor G.Kh. Khaidarova. At this time, prof. B.Kh.Khamzaliev, associate professors T.Yu. Yusupov, Kh.G. Gulyamov, assistants U.B.Samiev, U.D. Dadazhanov, A.Z.Zakirov, S.D.Tsoi, Kh.A. Nasrullaeva, Sh.A. Kurakhmedova, Sh.A. Otayarov. From that moment on, the main scientific direction of the department was the cardiological direction, i.e. development and implementation of new methods of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of ischemic heart disease and arterial hypertension.

  Gulsun Khaidarovna Khaidarova, MD (1990), professor (1992). She was born in 1944 in Bulungur region, Samarkand region, graduated from SamMI in 1966. (1968-1971) post-graduate student of the Department of Hospital Therapy, (1971-1992) Assistant, and then Associate Professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy, (1992-1995) Head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases. Professor G.Kh. Khaidarova from 1995 to 2004 simultaneously worked as the dean of the medical faculty.

  In connection with the transfer of G.Kh. Khaidarova, the head of the department of hospital therapy, the department of propedeutics of internal diseases was headed by tf. Associate Professor R.R. Sattarov (1995-1997).

  Rashid Raimovich Sattarov, MD associate professor, born in 1941 in the Samarkand region of the Samarkand region, graduated from SamMI in 1965. I worked in the region for 2 years. Gulyamov, assistant F.M. Kuiliev. In 1997, due to a decrease in the number of students at the institute, the staff of the department was also reduced. And the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases as a course became a part of the Department of Internal Diseases No. 1. and moved the clinic of SamMI No. 2 to the base of the 3-therapeutic department. The course of propedeutics of internal diseases at that time was taught by associate professor U.B.Samiev, assistants S.Kh. Karakhodzhaeva, S.Kh. Yarmukhamedova and N.N. Ishankulova. The Department of Internal Diseases No. 1 was headed by G.Kh. Khaidarova.

  In 1999, in connection with the reorganization of the SamMI clinic No. 2 into an emergency center, the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1, which included the course of internal diseases propaedeutics, was again transferred to the base of the 2-therapeutic department of the SamMI clinic.   By the 2002-2003 academic year, the number of students at the institute increased, the staff of departments expanded and the course of propaedeutics of internal diseases again received a separate status of an independent department, and associate professor U.B.Samiev was appointed head of the department.   Utkur Basirovich Samiev, Ph.D. associate professor, born in 1952 in the Samarkand district of the Samarkand region. In 1976 he graduated with honors from the medical faculty. SamMI. Associate professor U.B.Samiev worked simultaneously as deputy dean of the medical faculty (1987-1992), chairman of the local committee of SamMI (1992-1998), vice-rector of SamMI (1998-2006) and now actively participates in the social life of the faculty and institute.

  2011-2014, the department was headed by associate professor Abdullaev N.A., who was also the chief physician of the 1st clinic of SamMI. Daily activities of the department

  At the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, students of all faculties of our institute are engaged. The following subjects are taught at the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases: "Propedeutics of Internal Diseases", "Doctor and Patient". All subjects are taught according to a schedule drawn up by the educational part of the institute. A work program has been drawn up on the basis of the standard program for each subject.

  The department trains students 1, 2, 3, courses of medical, pediatric, medical and pedagogical faculties and students of South Korea 1-2 nd courses.

  Lectures on the subject of propaedeutics of internal diseases are read by the head of the department, associate professor S.Kh. Yarmukhamedova and associate professor U.B. Samiev. Practical classes are conducted by the assistants of the department.

  When conducting training sessions at the department, modern pedagogical technologies are used.

The main scientific directions of the department:

  • Prevalence of ischemic heart disease and hypertension, methods of diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis;
  • Study of cardiovascular pathology in gout;
  • Study of indicators of central hemodynamics in patients with pneumonia;
  • Study of indicators of central hemodynamics in patients with CKD;

  When conducting educational, research, diagnostic and medical work at the department, modern methods are widely used:

Electrocardiography, 24-hour ECG Holter monitoring, Echocardiography with Doppler, veloergometry, ABPM and ozone therapy.

  At the department, special attention is paid to working with gifted students. Tests and tasks for gifted students have been compiled. The department has a student scientific circle "Young diagnostician". The circle meets twice a month. At the meetings, students make reports on independently prepared topics.

The topic is discussed, questions are asked and answers are found. Members of the Council of People's Commissars of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases actively participate in holding international and republican scientific and practical conferences, speaking with reports and publishing abstracts.

  Many student members of the SNK are awarded annually with diplomas and certificates.

SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORK AT THE DEPARTMENT


  Activities on spirituality and enlightenment at the department are carried out according to the plan approved by the vice-rector for spirituality and enlightenment. According to this instruction, on Thursdays at the department at 8:30. for 30 minutes. in the presence of the department staff and students, classes on spirituality and enlightenment are held on schedule. Each hour is dedicated to a specific topic. After carrying out all this is recorded in the protocol.

  Curators are also interested in where their students live. Closely familiarizing themselves with the conditions of students living in the dormitory of the Institute and in apartments, they try to provide them with comprehensive assistance.

  Curators arouse interest and encourage students to continuously participate in sports competitions held among students of the Institute.

  Celebration among the staff of the department and students of such significant holidays as Independence Day, Knowledge Day, Medical Day, Teacher and Tutor Day, New Year, Navruz at the department is carried out at a good level. Excursions of students to historical monuments and other attractions of the city of Samarkand are organized annually according to the schedule.In addition, the staff of the department visit and provide assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor

  The staff of the department prepared 2 textbooks and 2 monographs. Several computer programs have been developed.

RESEARCH WORK AT THE DEPARTMENT


  The main scientific directions of the department:

  • Prevalence of ischemic heart disease and hypertension, methods of diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis;
  • Study of cardiovascular pathology in gout;
  • Study of indicators of central hemodynamics in patients with pneumonia;
  • Study of indicators of central hemodynamics in patients with CKD;

  Currently, the department is engaged in research work doctoral student D.R. Toirov. PhD thesis topic: "Comorbid course of gout and cardiovascular lesions: methods of diagnosis and treatment."

  Assistant of the department Nazarov F.Yu. approved the thesis topic for the PhD degree: "Evaluation and correction of external respiration and central hemodynamics in patients with community-acquired pneumonia in hot climates" and conducts patent searches, material collection and literature review.

  Assistant of the department Gaffarov Kh.Kh. approved the thesis topic for the PhD degree:"Assessment of hemodynamic changes and heart dysfunction in patients with cirrhosis of the liver" and conducts patent searches, material collection and literature review.

  Assistant of the department Vafoeva N.A. approved the topic of the thesis for the degree of PhD:"Study of cardiac morphofunctional changes and cardiorenal correlation in chronic kidney disease" and conducts patent searches, material collection and literature review.

  Assistant of the department Bekmurodova M.S. approved the topic of the thesis for the degree of PhD:"Comparative evaluation of the effect of proton pump inhibitors in the development of hepatic encephalopathy in patients with cirrhosis of the liver" and conducts patent searches, material collection and literature review.

  Over the past 5 years, 133 publications (92 articles and 41 theses) have been published at the Department of Internal Medicine Propedeutics. Of these, 64 are in international publications (5 Scopus), 28 are republican publications. Out of 41 theses, 29 are in international publications, 12 are republican publications.

  Associate Professor Yarmukhamedova S.Kh, and the staff of the department published 2 textbooks and 2 monographs.

  For 2020, the staff of the department introduced the results of 9 studies into practical health care. 12 master classes were held in attached colleges, the Central Regional Hospital of the Samarkandsel region, as well as for doctors in the Jizzakh and Kashkadarya regions. 15 scientific works of students were published under the guidance of the department staff. Of these, one I-place in an international conference, three works were awarded a diploma of the II degree.
