After the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the development of spirituality and enlightenment has become a priority of state policy in the country. One of the reforms in the field of enhancing education was the upbringing of a harmoniously developed generation in all respects. In order to promote the upbringing of young people in the spirit of patriotism and devotion to the ideals of independence, educational departments and centers “Ma’naviyat and ma’rifat” were created in all universities, which became the basis for the introduction and functioning of the post of vice-rector for spiritual education.
Over the past time, vice-rectors for spiritual and educational work at the Institute have worked: Professor K.A. Askarov in 1992-1995, Professor D.R. Kuldoshev in 1995-1996, Associate Professor B.T. Tilavov in 1996-1998 ., associate professor U.B. Samiev in 1998-2004, professor N.M. Chawazi in 2005-2014, Associate Professor A.M. Isakov in 2015-2020.
In accordance with the Decree of the President “On Additional Measures to Improve the Quality of Education in Higher Educational Institutions and Ensure Their Active Participation in Large-Scale Reforms Implemented in the Country” of June 5, 2018, the post of Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs was introduced.
In order to further improve and improve the educational processes at the institute, the main tasks of the vice-rector for work with youth are to guide the spiritual and educational system, improve the work carried out in this area, prepare and publish the necessary scientific and methodological literature using best practices, organize training for all areas, the organization of various circles, sports and public clubs, meetings, a wide explanation for students respect for universal values, historical traditions, love for the motherland, loyalty to the ideas of independence, achievements in the spiritual sphere, the training of highly mature professionals who meet the requirements of modern times and raise the spiritual and cultural, moral and spiritual and physically perfect, devoted his youth to the Motherland.
A large team is involved in the implementation of youth policy at the institute - a very well-coordinated, active and ready to go towards common goals, which includes the department of "Spirituality and Enlightenment", "Youth Union", "Women's Council", "Council of Curators", the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Firuza" ", A club of fun and inventive “Avicenna”.
The main activity of the Vice-rector for work with youth is: Organizational work to implement the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decisions of the Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers in the field of education and training; Organization of spiritual and educational work and the provision of training of qualified personnel; Organization of the implementation of orders, instructions and instructions of the relevant higher organizations, the decisions of the Scientific Council and the orders of the rector of SamMI, concerning spiritual and educational processes.
It should be noted that increasing the spirituality of youth is one of the priorities of the institute, since in the current age of globalization, rapid information exchange, it is important to increase its spirituality. SamMI constantly holds events dedicated to youth gaining their worthy place in society, further enhancing their political and legal knowledge, active participation in all reforms carried out in society, events are held to combat and combat corruption, AIDS, terrorism, extremism, drug addiction, substance abuse, alcoholism and other bad habits, students are questioned to identify errors and correct the process of spiritual and moral education, special attention is given and working with the students on the formation of a tolerant attitude to the people, competitions dedicated to specific dates and educating students in the spirit of patriotism, theme nights in the dormitories of the Institute dedicated to spiritual orientation, organized excursions to historical sites.
